They said education is one of the most important and precious things that cannot be stol3n by anyone from you. That’s why many students worked hard even at their young age just to earn money to support their studies.

This pand3mic was added to the problems experiencing by many of us now. But, with a person with dreams, it is never a hinder for them to achieve their goals in life.

Just like this kid from Abra who proudly finished his high school with flying colors. He is Edrian Bangngayen, a scholar from the Project Malasakit foundation by journalist Kara David. Edrian graduated from Jose Lopez Mansano Tuy National High School and with honors! The foundation helps with Edrian’s school expenses so that he doesn’t have to work anymore.

The foundation also helped the Filipinos who have difficulty getting an education.

That’s why Kara David proudly shared on her social media account about the success of Edrian. At a young age, Edrian worked hard just to earn money.

He collects honey and uses his earnings for his tuition fee. Sometimes hr even climbs a tree that is too tall just to pick wild orchids. He sells it for 10 pesos per bag which is his extra income apart from collecting honey.

Collecting honey is dangerous because it can be deadly when you are stung by thousands of bees. Although Edrian was aware of this risk, he was still determined to earn money. Edrian was featured in GMA’s I-witness documentary in 2014 and titled, “honey”. It tells the story of Edrian’s efforts to make money. Kara David finds out that Edrian’s dream is to become a full-fledged seaman. When Edrian became a scholar at Jose Lopez Mansano Tuy National High School, he also brought his brother.

Edrian was also featured in the i-witness documentary for the segment “Sa Mata ng Bata.” He told that his dream of becoming a seaman. The Project Malasakit Foundation also helped the Mangyan to pass the teacher’s board exams in 2019.
